Explore the Roman Mine Meurin and the World of Ancient Technology together with a „Mystagogue“, the ancient guides. Experience ancient and medieval technologies and slip into the role of Emperor Augustus‘ assistant. During our Adventure-Tours, groups immerse into the history of Roman mining and get to know first-hand what it meant to hew out volcanic stone underground and what the actual working conditions would have been like.

In the World of Ancient Technology, it is literally time to get to work. Become a part of the building industry from the ancient world to the Middle Ages. Use the ancient crane to hoist the heavy stones, mill grain with different variations of mills, rotate the stone lathe with pure muscular strength and be astonished by the enormous power of the marble saw of Ephesus.

From March to November our Mystagogues will guide you through the ancient tunnels using torchlight. These tours at nightfall are truly a unique experience.
